Thanksgiving on the Mission
Hey, hopefully your week was great! Thanksgiving was different on the mission. It was cool to still call and see everyone at home for Thanksgiving dinner, but besides that it was different. We had dinner at the Billmans and the Hulls. Both are from Utah and moved out to Mississippi later in life. It's cool - actually it seems like most of the branch just felt drawn here. Also Sister Hulls son's wife was at the dinner and she is Elder Suarez's daughter which was kinda wack.
We also did a lot of service this week. Me and my trainer are doing really well and we are super close so even though every teaching appointment except one fell through he have been able to just pick ourselves up and keep trudging.
Ah sorry for the late email, Pday just never seems to have enough time. It's been an amazing week. I'm continuing to learn so much and realize how to have joy in the work. I love you all and I can really feel the love and prayers you all send. The people here need it so much, they are really struggling. Here's a few things to pray for:
Christina, and her family that they can be strengthened and have angels to lift them up.
Rico, that he can get on date for baptism and be able to commit.
All the other people we're teaching - that they can have health and increase their faith.
That we can truly find the people who are ready to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and repent.
We have a prayer list of over 50 people, that all need significant strength. One of the greatest things I have learned on the mission is the power of prayer. I truly believe that through prayer everything is possible and all fear and pain subsides because it gives you complete clarity.
CHALLENGE: In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I did my yearly prayer of Thanksgiving and I want to integrate it into my day. But for each of you - pray for a specific amount of time that you set on a timer. And only express gratitude, and then at the end ask for one thing for someone else. But as you go through it it's cool to see how often you want to ask for something and just notice that you already have so much and you should fill it before asking for more. When you're done, email me how you feel. It's one of the coolest experiences!
LOVE YALL,
